This is backwards! This is our family's after the Variety Show bash! :) We all went to IHOP for a celebration dinner...and so mom didn't have to come up with something to cook at 9:00 at night! :)
"Dorothy" was in 7th heaven! Being dressed up as Dorothy and having a cup of hot chocolate...is totally Lydia's idea of entertainment! :) I was actually really thrilled at how I got her hair pretty close to Dorothy's! She has SO much hair, and it is fine and not really the "puffy, loose" type hair Dorothy has, but we managed a close look a like! When I was done doing it, and Lydia saw it she was thrilled and said, "Mom, this looks so good! I totally look like Dorothy. You could be a professional hair dresser!" What more does a mom need? It was a perfect thank you for the effort! :)
He looks cute and sweet, but he was being a complete MONSTER at the time of this picture! He is cute, but he is really good at terrorizing family events!
This is the terrorizing that was occurring before the previous picture! Brigham does EVERY thing Ray does, even if it means bullying Ray out of the way to do it!
Mom with her little performers! I am always proud that they are willing to do it! That takes a lot of nerve! The older Lydia gets the more aware she is of her nerves! But, I am glad she still goes out and performs!
Dad with his little girls that are growing up way too fast!
All the kids waiting for a table at IHOP! Every time a see a picture of all of them together I just love that they are mine! They all look like they belong together, and look like their dad! I just love those little rug rats!
January 28, 2011: Hubert H. Humphrey Variety Show
It came fast, but the time was here for another HHH Variety Show! Lydia and Loralyn decided to participate, but Bobby sat this one out. When we were there, we wished we had just signed him up to do the Napolean Dynamite again, because it was so funny.
LORALYN: Loralyn was invited to do a number with Kira McEntire and Daphne Gariety. They sang one of the songs from the play that they did last summer with Sharee called "One Step". It is a really cute little song!
Sharee and Arthur were on a weekend get-a-way for Arthur's b-day, so I told her I would get Daphne ready, and then Kira wanted to join in on the girl fun! So, Amber brought them over to my house before the show!
I had gone to Hobby Lobby to find the cute matching ribbons!
It really was a cute little performance with dance moves and everything!
Taking "one step" at a time! So Cute!
And, of course, the bow! They really looked cute and did a great job! Loralyn had it easy, because it was her group that sang the song in the play...so she had all the words down! Plus, she insisted we listen to it every time we were in the car! We were all singing "One step at a time, slow and steady, wins the race..." :)
The girls after there A+ performance! Way to go! Not a bad show for 1st and 2nd graders! (They are all really close in age, but Daphne and Kira are August so they made the age cut for the year before!)
LYDIA: She took on Dorothy and "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" this year!
Thanks to Grandma Schmutz having tiny feet, she had red shoes to wear! And, they were a little tight on Lydia! Thankfully, Grandma played the piano again for Lydia. It was buggy that they just had an electric piano, because it never sounds as good, but Grandma did great with what she was given!
And the curtsey!
Aunt Heather brought Hollie, Shaylie, and Weston to help with the fan base! Aunt Heather also provided the perfect Dorothy dress! If it wasn't for her, Lydia would not have been such a convincing Dorothy!
And thank goodness for Grandpa and Grandma Schmutz! She is always willing to play for Lydia, and he is great to come along as a fan! We'll sure miss that when they move to St. George!
