AYBL Basketball: Lydia #10

Lydia's basketball season came to an end! She had a really fun year, did great, and the team ended 14-2! It was a lot of fun!

Here she is at a practice, just dribbling down the court.
Two of the Raptors' (Lydia's team) biggest fans! Tessa Peterson and Brigham! They are so funny these two!
Lydia has loved playing with her best friend Lexi Peterson! We live on opposite sides of the city, so they LOVE b-ball season, because they get to see each other more than any time of the year!
Her is Lydia finishing off with a lay-up in the three man weave drill! This was a fun three men because it was Lydia with Kayla and Lexi Peterson! They have been friends since Lydia was 1 year old!
Here's cute Lexi posing for her individual picture! I was able to take the pictures of the team this year. It was the worst possible lighting, but we had to get some pictures before the end of the season, and we did end up getting some cute ones!
Here are the girls listening to "Coach P." tell them what to do! There cute sparkly head bands Alyssa made for the whole team, and they were very cute!
Here are 7 of the 10 just being silly! It really was a great little group of girls!
And coming up with a cute little pose on their own! It is fun to see what 10 year olds do when you pull out a camera!
This was a pose, but we would do a drill that started just like this! The girls would have to battle for the ball! And the first to stand with the ball was the winner! This is Lydia with Ariana Valasquez, probably the two strongest girls on the team. Lydia never lost at this drill. She is a strong little girl, and knows how to use her body to her advantage! She actually would make an amazing wrestler if that was a girl sport! :)
Lydia's individual picture!
The Raptors Team 2010-2011:
(left to right) Kelsey Clark, Lexi Peterson, Lydia Schmutz, Taylor Jones, Ariana Valasquez, Sofia Whitaker, Shannon Stein, Mikayla Sena, Haley Serna, and McKenzie Broussard.

Here is the whole team with the head coach Scott Peterson. He and I first met when I was a sophomore in high school! We have been friends ever since, and his wife and I are the best of friends! It has been really fun for us to have our families grow up together! They get along so well, that it is like they are cousins more than just friends! I saw a cute quote that said "Friends are family we choose for ourselves", and that totally reminds me of us with the Petersons!
I love how this team picture turned out! Scotty said, "I should have put my new Nike ball in there", after he saw how cute it turned out! I agreed! Next year! :)
I had to put this in of Loralyn, because this is TOTALLY her! She would dribble around a little, and then pull out her little stash of whatever she brought! This night it was her "laptop" (a toy), but still doesn't skip a beat on what the team is doing! She is so funny! Our little micromanager!
And this is us with our 2nd place trophy, which, if the truth be know should be the 1st place one! :) And that is not a bias coach, it is true. It did stink to end on a loss, when the girls didn't play their best. But, 14-2 is not a bad record! :) I am just a little too competitive! I don't mind loosing, when we aren't as good of a team...but when we are better but just had a bad game...it is a lot harder to swallow! :)
We had a team party at our house on March 4 (Friday night), and it was a lot of fun! Pizza, Hoosiers, cake and ice cream, and medals! What a better way to end the season! It really was a fun group of girls! They have a great chemistry and had so much fun just being together!

You are so gorgeous. I saw this picture and had to do a double take because I was like, "is that Erin???" (I've always thought you were so pretty but you look amazing! And so dang skinny!

Good job to Lydia for her awesome B-ball season

And...do you remember when you coached us at B-ball for the Cherry Hills Ward and I got kicked out when I threw the ball at Caitlin Eldridge's face? Hahahaha. I mean...that's really terrible. I'm sorry I did that to you, coach.
