The Best Part about Being in the Jungle!

Conner and Bobby were hunters in one of the fables! They loved holding their guns, and chasing kids around on their down time! Crazy kids! :)
Bobby with his friend Eric Devenport and cousin Conner! They were thrilled they got to be monkeys together, and it was quite appropriate, because they really are monkeys together! :) With or without the broadway paint!
This is Loralyn with one of her favorite friends Daphne Gariety! They are so cute, and have been little buds since they were tiny babies! Thank heaven for little girls, and bosom friends! :)
Loralyn is our cute little "stage fright" child. She is great to still get up and do it, even though you can tell their are a million butterflies twirling around in that little stomach! Way to go Roo! In one of the songs she was with the "hippopotamus" group. So, we did her hair in two little high buns! We thought it was the closest thing to hippo ears!
The favorite part of doing the CMT plays, is doing it with family and friends. This is Nate (my brother) an Natalie's kids with mine! Alyssa (6yrs), Bobby (8 yrs.), Lydia (10 yrs.), Conner (7 yrs.), and Loralyn (6 yrs.)! What cute cousins! We were so glad they all joined the jungle this year! Life is a Jungle...glad they have lots of critters to help and support them through it!
This was Bobby's "worm". He did it backwards under Rachel's back bend. He somehow snags fun little "stunts" in the plays! Last year he got to shoot out of a canon! He really is quite a little ham on stage! You wouldn't guess it with Bobby's generally quiet nature, but get him on a stage, and watch out!
Lydia singing her solo. She was so thrilled when she got the part of the mouse. She had wanted the Lion part originally, but I loved the little song the mouse sang. In the end, we were both thrilled she was "Panya" the mouse. And she not only had her part memorized, but everyone else's too! If you looked close that little mouse mouth was moving throughout the whole play with everyone's lines.
Bobby also got to be a hunter with his friend Dallin. He was thrilled when I had to buy the prop! He has played with his nerf shotgun ever since! :)
I love this picture of Sharee directing the kids while they performed! She is so talented, and the kids just LOVE her! You can really tell she loves it! Thank goodness for her enthusiasm! It is such a treat for the kids! And the most amazing part about it, is a week later I was in the hospital visiting her with her new baby Sydney! Way to go Sharee!

Loralyn performing with the CMT juniors! They were so cute! They charmed the show!

The best part about the CMT's (Children's Musical Theatre) "Welcome to the Jungle", was being able to do it with friends and family! And then they always meet new friends while making the play! Life is just always better when you add family and friends in the mix of it!

Welcome to the Jungle

Our kids LOVE to be part of the Children's Musical Theatre that Sharee Gariety puts on! We are so glad to have such a talented friend! This year they did a cute Aesop's Fables play. Here is the before and after make up pictures of the kids! It was quite the process to help with the make up! We had real broadway make up, and the kids got to experience sitting to get painted, powdering up to set the paint, and spritzing off to seal the make up. I painted the hippo faces. When they sent home a list of what you could sign up to help with, I saw face painting, and thought that would be perfect for me! I love to pull out the eye liner pencils, and decorate the kids faces for Halloween. Oh no, this was full on Broadway face painting! It was a little intimidating when we got the step by step instructions, and I was a little nervous about pulling it off...but all the mom volunteers did a great job with our Broadway makeup 101 hands on instructions! They kids looked so cute, and it was fun to see them really enter the Jungle world once they had their faces on! It really made it an even extra fun experience! These little plays end up taking on a life of their own! :) I don't know how Sharee does it! It is amazing! By the end, I am ready to go to Hawaii for detox, and the kids love it so much they are ready for another one! :) Loralyn was painted as an elephant. Bobby was a monkey. And Lydia was thrilled to have a lead role as the mouse! She not only had her lines memorized, but she had everyone's lines memorized. And if you watched her carefully during the play, her little mouse mouth was reciting what everyone was saying! She really LOVES the whole experience After, she said,"Mom, can we find another drama camp to do?"
